Instructions:

  • Wonderbuilds Spray SA Primer should be applied to the roof deck. The adhesive and surfaces being bonded should have a temperature between 16OC and 27OC for optimum performance.
  • You should ensure that there is adequate ventilation. It is recommended to shake the cannister well first where possible.
  • Next, you should attach the hose as tightly as possible onto the spray gun with the required tip. Then, attach the opposite end of the hose onto the cannister. The hose-valve connections must be securely tightened at this stage. Slowly open the valve on the cannister, ensuring you are checking for leaks at the same time. At this point you can start spraying by unlocking the trigger on the spray gun.
  • Make sure to spray a small test patch of the primer on the substrate beforehand to check compatibility. Be aware that this product could degrade some substrates.

Step-by-step application instructions:

  1. Ensure that surfaces do not have any dirt, dust, oil, loose paint, wax, or grease. The surfaces should be clean and dry.
  2. Spray approximately 10-20cm away at a 90 degree angle to the surface. There should be 50% overlaps, whilst you apply a uniform and even coat of adhesive. There should be between 80-100% coverage of the surface. You can also spray another coat of the primer in some areas if needed.
  3. Wait 2 minutes for the primer to tack off. There should be no primer transfers to the knuckle when touched.
  4. Use adequate pressure to press the surfaces together. To make sure that you get the most effective adhesion, a roller is recommended to apply uniform pressure.
  5. In case the spray tip clogs, you can unscrew the spray tip from the gun and use lacquer thinner, acetone, or another solvent to clean it. A pin must not be used on the spray tip.
